On early Tuesday morning, a pedestrian died after being struck by a car near Tropicana Avenue and Paradise Road.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian accident took place at about 3:31 a.m. on east Tropicana Avenue, east of Kelch Drive. The preliminary investigation revealed that a grey 2017 Nissan Rogue was going westbound on Tropicana in the third travel lane when the pedestrian crossed outside of a crosswalk.
Just then, the right front of the Nissan hit the right side of the pedestrian throwing the person onto the roadway. The pedestrian suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Nissan stayed at the scene and did not display any signs of impairment.
An investigation into the crash is continuing.
