9 people injured after a three-vehicle accident in Sonoma County (Sonoma County, CA)

On Wednesday, nine people sustained injuries following a multi-vehicle wreck in Sonoma County.

As per the initial information, the three-vehicle accident took place at 10:53 a.m. on Rohnert Park Expressway and Commerce Boulevard. The preliminary investigation indicated that a Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling south on Commerce Boulevard when it traveled through the intersection and crashed into the transit bus and an SUV.

According to the investigators, the bus and SUV both stopped and were waiting to turn left. Nine people were injured as a result of the wreck. On arrival, medics transported three to hospitals. One of them had major injuries while another received moderate injuries. The third person incurred only minor injuries.

Six other patients received medical aid at the scene or were privately taken for evaluation. Authorities believe that impairment was not involved in the crash. The intersection was blocked for more than an hour as crews worked at the scene. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
