9 people sustained injuries following a multi-vehicle wreck Sunday night near Goodyear. The incident forced authorities to close down the eastbound lanes of I-10 in the West Valley.
As per the initial information, the seven-vehicle pile-up took place at about 7:30 p.m. near Sarival Avenue. A total of seven vehicles, including an RV were involved in the major crash. Nine people received injuries as a result of the crash. Four of them were immediately taken to the hospital.
The extent of injuries suffered by all the victims remains unknown at this time. ADOT is asking drivers to avoid the area while crews work at the scene. It is not known when the highway will be back open again for traffic. No other details are available.
The wreck remains under active review.
