According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported in Castroville. Authorities confirmed that two people died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Officials confirmed that the collision occurred on Highway 1, south of Molera Road. The driver of a truck drove across double yellow lines. As a result of this, he struck a car.
The driver was identified as 69-year-old David Hart. The driver of the car was identified as 79-year-old Dorothy Cousins. Cousins and 76-year-old James Hendrickson were pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
Hart and one of his passengers were transported to Natividad Medical Center sustaining injuries. The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
