78-year-old Dorothy Hughart dead following a two-vehicle collision in Bossier Parish (Haughton, LA)

Authorities identified 78-year-old Dorothy Hughart, from Haughton, as the elderly woman who lost her life following a traffic collision Tuesday morning in Bossier Parish.

The fatal two-vehicle crash took place on Highway 80 in Haughton. According to the investigation reports, Dorothy Hughart was westbound when another vehicle, driven by 40-year-old Yesenia Martinez, crashed into her vehicle.

Martinez reportedly failed to yield a left turn and slammed into Hughart’s vehicle, causing her car to roll over. Hughart, who was not buckled up, was rushed to Ochsner LSU Health where she later succumbed to her injuries. Martinez remained unharmed in the accident. No other details are made available.

An investigation is ongoing.
