Louisiana State Police Troop D responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 27 near Sulphur that claimed a life. The crash happened near Sam Dunham Road on October 5, 2022, around 3:15 p.m.
A preliminary investigation revealed 76-year-old Harry T. Methvin was driving in a Jeep Compass along north Highway 27. He was struck by a Toyota Tundra driven by 60-year-old Bret Wayne Thibodeaux, who lost control of his vehicle.
Thibodeaux sustained injuries from the crash and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Methvin sustained severe injuries and was flown to a local hospital, where he died later.
According to the police, Methvin was wearing his seatbelt during the crash.
