68-Year-Old Leobardo Barrientos-Mendez Died, 1 Other Injured In A Multi-Vehicle Accident In Somerville (Somerville, TX)

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a multi-vehicle accident was reported on Saturday night.

The officials stated that two vehicles were involved in the crash that happened on Farm-to-Market 60, approximately three miles northeast of Somerville at the Davidson Creek Bridge. 

Officials reported that a 2003 Ford F150 was heading eastbound on FM 60 and a 2009 Peterbilt truck tractor semi-trailer was attempting to exit a private drive when the driver of the Ford hit the trailer of the Peterbilt. 

The Burleson County Justice of the Peace Robert Urbanosky pronounced 68-year-old Leobardo Barrientos-Mendez dead at the scene. 

His passenger was rushed to CHI St. Joseph Regional Health Hospital with serious injuries. 

The identity of the injured victim was not released by the officials. 

The Texas DPS is yet to confirm whether drugs, alcohol or reckless driving was the ctor involved in the crash.
