64-year-old Denise Heinrich died, 66-year-old man seriously injured after a motorcycle accident near Vega (Vega, TX)

Authorities identified 64-year-old Denise Heinrich, of Oklahoma, as the woman who lost her life following a single-vehicle crash that injured a man on Saturday near Vega.

The fatal motorcycle accident took place on I-40 at about 12 p.m. The preliminary reports showed that a 66-year-old man was riding a motorcycle east on I-40 approximately five miles west of Vega when the rear tire reportedly burst. The driver then lost control and laid the motorcycle onto its side.

Both he and his passenger, Denise Heinrich were thrown from the motorcycle as it began to skid on the road. Heinrich succumbed to her injuries, while the man was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. No further details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
