Authorities identified 67-year-old Janica Clyde and 63-year-old Randall Pockrus as the victims who received injuries following a DUI crash Wednesday on Highway 99.
As per the initial information, the two-car collision took place at about 2:30 p.m on Highway 99 and Esplanade. The preliminary reports showed that 39-year-old Ronald Rodarte was driving a Hyundai Elantra stopped on northbound Esplanade at Highway 99. At that point of time, Pockrus on a Ford Taurus south on Highway 99 broadsided Rodarte’s car.
Due to the impact, the Hyundai ended up in a southeastern direction where it collided with a chain-link fence. The Ford spun around and came to stop in the intersection. According to the officials, Rodarte did not yield the right-of-way to Pockrus who was not able to avoid the crash. Both Pockrus and his passenger Clyde had injuries. Rodarte suffered major injuries and was detained by police. Rodarte was believed to be driving impaired. No other information is available.
