62-year-old man hospitalized after getting hit by a car in Midway District (San Diego, CA)

A 62-year-old man received injuries after getting struck by a car Wednesday while attempting to cross a street in the Midway District.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian crash took place in the 3850 Rosecrans St. Authorities actively responded to the scene at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday and, on arrival, found the man lying in the street. The preliminary reports showed that a 46-year old man driving a 2016 Volkswagen sedan northbound on Rosecrans Street hit the pedestrian.

The pedestrian was rushed to a hospital with multiple fractures, which are not believed to be life-threatening. It is unknown if the involved driver remained at the scene or not after the accident. No other details are available.

The incident remains under review.
