On late Thursday night, six people suffered injuries following a traffic collision in Tempe.

As per the initial information, the two-vehicle accident took place near Baseline and Kyrene Road. The preliminary investigation revealed that a car was traveling northbound down Kyrene when it ran a red light, driving straight into a dead end. After that, the car crashed into a truck parked at a gas station near the intersection.

All five occupants of the car along with the driver of the truck were injured as a result of the collision. According to the officials, some of those injuries may be life-threatening. Speed might have contributed to the accident. Baseline Road was shut down between Kyrene and Hardy Drive as crews worked at the scene. No other details were provided.

The incident remains under investigation.
