A 59-year-old woman lost her life and one person received serious injuries following a two-vehicle accident Friday in Chandler.
As per the initial information, the fatal car crash took place along Arizona Avenue close to Elliot Road at about 12:30 a.m. The early reports showed that a truck was going southbound on Arizona Avenue when it crashed into a sedan that was turning left into the northbound lanes.
The driver of the sedan, only identified as a 59-year-old woman, was rushed to the hospital with major injuries. Police confirmed that she succumbed to her injuries. The truck driver also sustained serious injuries and was taken into the hospital. Speed and impairment on the part of the truck driver might have played a part in the wreck. No other details are available.
The incident remains under review.
