59-year-old Glenn Stevenson killed following an auto-pedestrian collision on West Broad Street (Athens, GA)

Authorities identified 59-year-old Glenn Stevenson, of Athens, as the man who lost his life Wednesday evening after being hit by a vehicle on West Broad Street just west of the Alps Road intersection.

The fatal incident took place at around 8:50 p.m. when the pedestrian was struck by an eastbound pickup. The crash took the life of Glenn Stevenson who was wearing dark clothing when he crossed the highway. The investigation reports showed that Stevenson was not in a crosswalk when the collision happened.

On the other hand, the pickup driver cooperated with the investigating team and no charges are expected. Athens-Clarke County Coroner Sonny Wilson stated on Thursday that the area on West Broad where Stevenson was struck is dimly lit and where other pedestrians have been killed in the past.
