55-year-old man in critical condition after an auto-pedestrian crash in Mission Valley (San Diego, CA)

A 55-year-old man was left in critical condition after getting struck by a car Thursday in Mission Valley.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian crash took place at about 11:30 p.m. on Hotel Circle South. The preliminary reports showed that a 55-year-old man was walking along the shoulder of Hotel Circle South when, for undetermined reasons, he darted across traffic and was hit a 2011 Honda CRV driven by a 30-year-old man.

On arrival, paramedics rushed the pedestrian to a local hospital with serious head and other injuries. The driver remained unharmed in the accident. No further details are available.

The incident remains under investigation.
