The Clarksville Police Department reported a pedestrian accident on Friday.
The accident occurred on Providence Boulevard near D Street at about 5:10 p.m.
According to the officials, the victim, identified as 55-year-old James Nickell, was hit by a car at the intersection.
The victim was taken to Tennova Healthcare where he succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
The cause of the fatal accident is being investigated and has not been revealed yet.
It is not known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
The police have asked anybody who has witnessed the accident to step forward and give details.
There is no other information available at the moment.
