54-year-old Stanley Fischer died after a hit-and-run accident in north Phoenix (Phoenix, AZ)

Authorities identified 54-year-old Stanley Fischer as the bicyclist who was killed after being struck by a hit-and-run motorist early Friday morning in north Phoenix.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run accident took place at 1:45 a.m. near 12th Street and Orangewood Avenue. The preliminary reports showed that a man riding his electric bike fell over while attempting to cross 12th Street.

As the bicyclist was trying to get back up, he was reportedly hit by a red coupe traveling northbound. The victim, 54-year-old Stanley Fischer, was rushed to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver left the scene eastbound down Wagon Wheel Drive. No other details are available.

The incident remains under active review.
