On Tuesday, authorities identified 54-year-old Ricardo Gomez Perez, of Healdsburg, and 44-year-old Manuel Velasquez Garcia, of Montclair, as the victims who lost their lives following a head-on collision Monday in Bakersfield.
The fatal semi-truck crash took place on Interstate 5, south of Twisselman Road. According to the investigation reports, Garcia was driving a truck north on I-5 when the vehicle drifted into the southbound lanes and crashed head-on into a truck driven by Perez, who was traveling south.
Ricardo Gomez Perez and Manuel Velasquez Garcia were both declared deceased at 3:25 a.m. at the scene by the officials. No other details are made available.
The crash remains under investigation.
