53-year-old man injured following a single-vehicle accident in Holland Township (Holland, MI)

A 53-year-old Holland man received injuries after a traffic collision in Holland Township Monday morning.

According to a witness, the man was driving on Riley Street, close to Dogwood Lane at about 9:45 a.m. when his car veered off the roadway and hit a guardrail. The early reports showed that the man seemed to be having a medical emergency when first responders arrived at the scene.

Deputies, with assistance from the Holland Township Fire Department, managed to remove the man. He was then taken to Holland Hospital by American Medical Response in stable condition. The westbound lanes of Riley Street were shut down for about one hour Monday morning. No other details are available.

The incident remains under review.
