Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to a fatal crash that claimed a life. The crash happened on Friday around 6:20 a.m on Louisiana Highway 118 (Clifton road). 

The victim was identified as 51-year-old Gregory Shackford of Mora.

The preliminary investigation reveals a 2016 Jeep Wrangler, driven by Shackleford, west on the highway, swerved off the right side of the roadway and struck a large tree before overturning. The cause of the crash is unknown. 

Shackleford sustained fatal injuries from the crash and died at the scene.

A toxicology sample was obtained and sent for further analysis.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
