5 students injured after a vehicle crashes into a tree in Orange County (Orange County, TX)

On Wednesday morning, five Little Cypress-Mauriceville students were hospitalized after the vehicle they were riding in slammed into a tree in Orange County.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash took place on Farm to Market Road 1130. The preliminary reports showed that the students were riding in a 2018 Dodge Ram and going to football practice. For unknown reasons, their vehicle swerved off the road and rammed into a tree.

The 16-year-old driver, a 15-year-old passenger, a 13-year-old passenger, and a 12-year-old passenger were all rushed to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont with unspecified injuries. Another 12-year-old passenger was taken to UTMB Health in Galveston with unknown injuries. No other details are immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
