The Texas Department Of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle crash in Culberson County. The accident happened close to Guadalupe Mountains national park.
According to a DPS news release, Dean Lee Riley, 49 of Dell City was travelling in the U.S. Highway 62 east in a westbound lane.
According to police, Lee’s Chevrolet Silverado slammed into the side of a Volvo truck tractor pulling a semi-trailer, causing it to skid north.
Lee was thrown out of the Silverado when it rolled off the road and was fatally injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police reported that the Volvo’s driver was hurt in the collision. According to the police, Lee was not buckled up at the time of the fatal crash.
