42-year-old man hospitalized after an electric bicycle crash in Edinburg (Edinburg, TX)

A 42-year-old man received injuries after a vehicle struck an electric bicycle Tuesday in Edinburg.

As per the initial information, authorities actively responded to the area of 2600 South Business 281 at about 6 a.m. on Tuesday on reports of a bicycle accident. On arrival, responders found a 42-year-old man lying on the side of the road near a gray Ford Explorer with damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle.

The man was taken to a local hospital in unknown condition. The preliminary reports showed that the Ford Explorer, driven by a 42-year-old woman, hit the man on the electric bicycle while he was heading on the shoulder along Business 281. The woman pulled over to render aid to the man until paramedics arrived. No other details are available.

The incident remains under investigation.
