41-year-old man injured following an auto-pedestrian crash in Grand Rapids (Grand Rapids, MI)

A 41-year-old man received serious injuries after being hit by a car in Grand Rapids.

As per the initial information, the pedestrian accident took place on Michigan Street NE and Fuller Avenue NE. The early reports showed that a 68-year-old man from Grand Rapids was driving a small pickup truck near the intersection. The reports further indicated that the truck’s brakes and steering did not work which caused the driver to hit a 41-year-old man also from Grand Rapids, who was crossing the street from west to east.

The pedestrian sustained serious injuries, but was conscious, breathing and communicating when he was taken to the hospital. Police believe that his injuries are non-critical. On the other hand, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Alcohol does not seem to be a factor in the incident.

The crash remains under review.
