40-year-old woman died after being hit by a train in Kent (Kent, WA)

A 40-year-old woman lost her life after being hit by a train Thursday in Kent.

As per the initial information, the fatal pedestrian accident took place just south of East Willis Street near West Crow Street and Railroad Avenue South. The early reports showed that the train stepped in front of a northbound Sounder commuter train at around 7:11 AM.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office will officially release the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin. A Tacoma departure was canceled and other trains were delayed more than an hour due to the incident, according to Sound Transit. No other details are available.

The incident remains under review.
