Officials identified 39-year-old Clifford Hudson Jr. who lost his life following a scooter crash Thursday night in the city’s north end.
As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle accident took place near the intersection of Lucas and Abilene Street shortly after 9:30 p.m. The early reports showed that Clifford Hudson Jr., of Beaumont, was hit by a Chevy Suburban while riding a “self-propelled child scooter” in the westbound outside lane of the 3100 block of East Lucas Drive.
Hudson suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. Police did not mention if charges were filed in the collision. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation is ongoing.
