Authorities identified 37-year-old Walter Reynoso-Aquilar, of Cedartown, as the man who lost his life following a two-vehicle accident on Saturday afternoon in Bartow County.
As per the initial information, the fatal incident took place at about 2:45 p.m. on Ga. 113/Covered Bridge Road. The preliminary investigation showed that Walter Reynoso-Aquilar, 37, was driving a 2000 Toyota 4Runner and was trying to make a left turn from Ga. 113 northbound onto Covered Bridge Road westbound. At that point of time, a white 2020 Ford F-450 was going in the right lane of Ga. 113 southbound.
Just as Reynoso-Aquilar attempted to turn left, he went into the way of the F-450 and was hit on the right side of his vehicle. The impact of the crash caused both vehicles to leave the west side of the roadway where they collided with multiple signs. Reynoso-Aquilar sustained major injuries as a result of the crash and was later declared dead. The driver of the F-450 and his passenger incurred minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
