Authorities identified 36-year-old Edward Rand Howerton as the man who lost his life after being struck by a vehicle in Amargosa Valley last week.
As per the initial, the fatal hit-and-run accident was reported at about 5:30 p.m. on State Route 373, south of mile marker 15 in Amargosa Valley, on Friday, Dec. 10. Investigators believe that the man was on the highway when he was hit by a vehicle traveling south.
The vehicle kept on going southbound without stopping to render aid to the victim. The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene. He has been identified as Edward Rand Howerton, 36, of Amargosa Valley. The driver and vehicle involved in the crash have not yet been located yet. No other details are available.
The incident remains under active review.
