On Thursday morning, police responded to a fatal crash near Flournoy Lucas and Vera streets.
An initial investigation into the crash reveals that an SUV and a passenger car collided around 7 a.m.
The SUV driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The other vehicle’s female driver and her child sustained moderated injuries from the crash and were taken to the hospital.
The SUV driver was identified as Bennie Webster Jr., 36.
Traffic was diverted on Flournoy Lucas to Aspen Circle.
Additional information regarding the crash is currently unavailable. It is not clear if alcohol or drugs were a factor. An investigation into the wreck is ongoing.
