32-year-old Jeremy Chavez dead after a motorcycle crash in Long Beach (Long Beach, CA)

Authorities identified 32-year-old Jeremy Chavez, of Los Alamitos, as the man who lost his life following a single-vehicle accident on Sunday in Long Beach.

The fatal motorcycle crash took place at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Studebaker Road near Loynes Drive. According to the investigation reports, a 1993 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by an adult male, was going at a high rate of speed northbound on Studebaker Road approaching Loynes Drive, when the rider failed to maintain control of his motorcycle.

The motorcycle hit the center median and then slammed into the concrete barrier over a portion of the Los Cerritos Channel. According to the investigators, the driver had a valid California driver’s license with an M1 endorsement. Authorities are trying to determine if distracted driving and DUI contributed to the crash. No further details were provided.

The incident remains under review.
