30-year-old Lamar Waller died after an intentional hit-and-run crash in Detroit (Detroit, MI)

Authorities identified 30-year-old Lamar Waller as the man who died of injuries he sustained after being run over by an SUV on July 12 in Detroit. The Detroit man succumbed to his injuries on Monday.

The intentional hit-and-run crash took place in a convenience store parking lot on early Tuesday. The investigation reports showed that Waller and the suspect had an argument in the parking lot of a nearby club where Waller works security. Waller had stood up for a woman the suspect was reportedly harassing.

At about 1:20 a.m. the two men went to a CVS on 8 Mile near Southfield Freeway to work it out. When Waller came out of his vehicle, the suspect allegedly ran him over and then left the scene. Lamar Waller was left brain dead after being hit. His wife took him off life support on Monday. Waller was also a father. No arrests have been made.

The incident remains under active review.
