A multi-vehicle accident that took place on Saturday on Memorial Boulevard claimed the life of a 30-year-old woman. The incident is said to have taken place at around 2:30 AM.
Police reports indicate that a 2017 Toyota Tundra was moving north when the vehicle collided with the driver’s side of a 2007 Saturn S that was taking a left turn out of a Mapco Mart. Officials said the driver of the Saturn, identified as Brittany Cole, was trapped inside her car and that the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department Firefighters used equipment to free her. Emergency Services pronounced her dead at the scene.
The driver of the Tundra, Robert Ryder, is believed to have been drinking and speeding before the fatal accident on Saturday morning. Ryder was booked in the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center and is awaiting a hearing in the General Sessions Court.
