According to the California Highway Patrol, a motor vehicle accident occurred in Bakersfield on Wednesday night.
The crash happened on the 2100 block of California Avenue at around 10 p.m.
According to the investigators, a Jeep SUV and 29-year-old Marcus Allen Munoz were involved in the collision. The officials stated that the driver of the Jeep traveling eastbound veered off the road and crashed into a tree.
Marcus was identified as the driver of the Jeep who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the reports, it is unclear what caused the crash and if drugs or alcohol were a factor involved. The accident is still being investigated.
