One person sustained multiple injuries after a two-vehicle accident Monday in San Diego.
As per the initial information, the motorcycle crash took place just before 5 p.m. at the intersection of Market and 13th streets. The preliminary reports showed that a 42-year-old tow driver failed to stop at a red light for westbound traffic. The truck then slammed into a 29-year-old man riding on a Triumph motorcycle.
The rider was heading south on 13th Street and facing a green light when the incident happened. The motorcyclist suffered a perforated spleen, an open fracture to his left tibia/fibula and a fractured left foot. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Alcohol was not suspected to be a factor in the collision. No further details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
