29-year-old Alejandro Mejia died after a motorcycle crash in Beaumont (Beaumont, TX)

29-year-old Alejandro Mejia, of Yucaipa, died after a two-vehicle crash at a Beaumont intersection, authorities said Tuesday.

As per the initial information, the fatal motorcycle accident took place at around 12:40 p.m. Monday at Four Seasons and Potrero boulevards. The preliminary reports showed that Mejia entered the intersection when the crash with the pickup happened.

Good Samaritans tried to render aid to the victim prior to the arrival of responders, but Mejia was declared dead at the scene less than 10 minutes later. The pickup driver, who was not injured, was interviewed by officers and released. At this time, it is unknown who was the at-fault driver. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
