On Sunday, 28-year-old Warren Bouie, of Slidell, was killed after getting struck by a vehicle in St. Tammany Parish.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian accident took place just after 9:00 p.m. on Interstate 10, close to U.S. Hwy 190 (Gause Boulevard) in St. Tammany Parish. The early reports showed that Bouie was trying to cross the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 while a 2018 Toyota Prius and a 2015 Dodge Challenger were going eastbound on Interstate 10. As Bouie tried to cross the roadway, he got hit by the Toyota and then the Dodge.
Bouie suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The driver of the Toyota was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. They incurred only minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital. The driver of the Dodge was also buckled up and remained uninjured. Toxicology samples were taken from Bouie and both drivers for analysis. No other details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
