27-year-old Jason Hamlet dead after a hit-and-run crash in Shreveport’s Hollywood neighborhood (Shreveport, LA)

Authorities identified 27-year-old Jason Hamlet of Union Ave. as the man who died of injuries he suffered following an auto-pedestrian collision late Friday night in Shreveport’s Hollywood neighborhood.

The fatal hit-and-run crash took place a little after 9:30 p.m. in the 7000 block of Linwood. According to the investigation reports, 27-year-old Jason Hamlet got off a city bus and attempted to cross the street when he got hit by a vehicle.

The driver of the involved vehicle left the scene after the accident. On arrival, emergency crews rushed Hamlet to Ochsner LSU Health, where he later succumbed to his injuries early Saturday morning. An autopsy was ordered, officials said. No other details are available.

The incident remains under active review.
