26-Year-Old Jermaine Mathis Died In A Two-Car Crash In Putnam County (Putnam County, GA)

Investigators responded to a two-car crash on Tuesday on Harmony Road in Putnam County. 

A preliminary investigation reveals Jermaine Mathis, 26, of Eatonton, was traveling east on Harmony road in a 2011 Kia Optima. He crossed the center line and traveled into the westbound lane. He struck a 2009 BMW 335, driven by Demarkeo Lanard Towles, 26. 

Mathis was taken to Putnam General Hospital by EMS. He later died at the hospital due to his injuries. 

Towles was airlifted by the AirEvac helicopter to Atrium Health Navicent in Macon. 

The extent of their injuries is not known at this moment. The crash remains under investigation.
