On Wednesday, a 25-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle on North Park Street.
As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian crash took place at approximately 9 p.m. on 4400 Illinois Street. The early reports showed that the 25-year-old woman was going eastbound when her dog pulled her into a North Park street while on a walk.
Just then, she got struck by a southbound 2003 BMW Z4, driven by a 61-year-old driver. On arrival, emergency crews rushed the woman to an area hospital, where it was found out that she had a brain bleed, fractures to her left tibia and fibula as well as “various lacerations and abrasions.
Her injuries were considered to be life-threatening. The incident did not lead to any other injuries. The identity of the victim has not been revealed at this time. No other details are immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
