Authorities identified 25-year-old Marco Antonio Marin as the man who was seriously hurt Monday night after a two-vehicle accident in East Central El Paso.

As per the initial information, the motorcycle crash took place just after 9 p.m. near the intersection of Hawkins and Gateway Boulevard East. The investigation reports showed that 2008 Honda motorcycle driven by 25-year-old Marco Antonio Marin was hit by a 2011 Chevy Silverado driven by 54-year-old Arnoldo Morales.

The reports also revealed that Morales was northbound on Tony Lama street, approaching the intersection of Hawkins Boulevard. At that point of time, Marin was southbound on Tony Lama. The reports further stated that Morales tuned left in front of the motorcycle when the incident happened.

Marin was rushed to University Medical Center by Fire Medical services with life-threatening injuries. He was reportedly wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. Authorities said that failure to yield the right of way on the part of Morales played a major role in the crash.
