24-year-old Robert King died following a hit-and-run accident on northwest side (Tucson, AZ)

Officials identified 24-year-old Robert King as the victim who was killed after being hit by an impaired driver Monday on northwest side.

As per the initial information, the authorities actively responded to the area near 2300 West Ina Road at about 11:45 a.m. on reports of a hit-and-run accident. On arrival, responding officers found the pedestrian identified as 24-year-old Robert King lying in the roadway with obvious signs of trauma. The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene.

35-year-old Lia Lara, faces charges of second-degree murder. King was previously seen on top of the hood of a vehicle going westbound from an apartment complex on Ina Road. According to the officials, Lara was driving under the influence and ran away from the scene  on foot. No other details are available.

The incident remains under review.
