23-Year-Old Naema Johns Killed In A Car Crash In St. Tammany Parish (Mandeville, LA)

Louisiana State Police are investigating a Saturday morning car crash that claimed a life. 

Naema Johns, 23, of Beaufort, was identified as the victim who died in the crash. 

According to the State Police, John was driving a 2011 Hyundai Sonata eastbound on I-12. A 2009 GMC Sierra was also eastbound at the same time. The GMC struck the Hyundai when it stopped in the right lane. The collision caused the Hyundai to travel off the roadway and hit a tree. 

Johns died at the scene. His female passenger suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. 

The GMC driver remained uninjured.

LSP said every occupant was restrained during the crash. Routine toxicology samples were obtained for further analysis.  

An investigation into the crash is under review.
