20-year-old David Ayala and 25-year-old Joel Frias killed after a wreck on 710 Freeway off-ramp (Los Angeles, CA)

Officials identified 20-year-old David Ayala and 25-year-old Joel Frias, both from Los Angeles, as the men who lost their lives following a traffic collision early Friday morning on 710 Freeway off-ramp in the El Sereno area.

The fatal multi-vehicle accident was reported shortly after 12:45 a.m. on the Valley Boulevard off-ramp. According to the investigation reports, a speeding SUV that was exiting the freeway slammed into a curb and then a recycling center. Reports confirmed that two people died as a result of the wreck.

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office identified them as David Ayala and Joel Frias. A 24-year-old man was in the rear seat of a vehicle involved, and he was rushed to LAC + USC Medical Center with major injuries. No other details are available.

An investigation is continuing.
