Authorities responded to a fatal crash that injured a cyclist and driver on University Avenue in Berkeley. The motor vehicle accident happened on Sunday just after 1 p.m.
The driver of a silver Mercedes-Benz GL 450 SUV collided with a cyclist, according to investigators. According to the BPD, the Berkeley cyclist was riding with a group.
According to the Berkeley emergency traffic review, the 69-year-old SUV driver from Pinole rolled over.
The driver was rescued later after being trapped inside the vehicle. The injured man was transported to Highland Hospital, while the other man was admitted to Alta Bates hospital in Berkeley with minor injuries.
The SUV also struck three parked vehicles, police said.
Everyone involved in the crash stayed at the scene.
BPD does not believe drugs or alcohol to be the factors in the crash.
