2 people hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash on Jefferson Street and Miles Avenue (Indio, CA)

On Tuesday night, two people suffered injuries following a motorcycle accident on Jefferson Street.

As per the initial information, the hit-and-run crash took place at about 5:15 p.m. at the intersection of Jefferson Street and Miles Avenue. The preliminary investigation indicated that initially a vehicle and a motorcycle crashed into each other for undetermined reasons. Shortly after the first collision, a dark grey pick-up truck hit the motorcyclist who was on the ground.

The pickup drove away from the scene northbound on Jefferson Street from Miles. On arrival, paramedics took two people to a hospital. The victims included the motorcyclist with critical injuries and the second person with minor injuries. Authorities shut down roads around the intersection as crews worked at the scene. No other details were provided.

The incident remains under active review.
