On Saturday morning, two people suffered injuries following a head-on collision in Mecca.
As per the initial information, the two-vehicle crash took place at about 6:03 a.m. on Highway 86, south of Avenue 62. The early reports showed that two vehicles smashed head-on into each other for reasons that are yet to be known.
On arrival, emergency responders freed the injured victims from both vehicles. One person was flown to a hospital with major injuries through a helicopter while another was transported by a ground ambulance in unknown condition. No other details are made available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
