On Wednesday, two children were hospitalized after a crash in Nashville while officers charged their mother identified as 32-year-old Jazlin Dixon for driving under the influence.
Officers quickly responded to the crash scene along West Trinity Lane and Free Silver Road after getting reports of a traffic collision. The preliminary investigation showed that Dixon said to the officials that she did not know what happened and believed that she crashed because there was some issue with her key fob.
On arrival, medics transported her two children to the hospital with unknown injuries. One of the children, age 9, was seriously injured. The accident crumpled the right side of her vehicle. According to the officials, Dixon had red, watery eyes and dilated pupils and she agreed to take a field sobriety test in which she displayed several signs of being intoxicated and unable to complete tasks.
Officers smelled alcohol and when they asked Dixon what she had drank. Dixon replied that she had three Natty Ice beers within an hour before driving. Investigators also found a Bug Light inside the vehicle. Dixon is being detained on a $10,000 bond in Davidson County Jail and is being charged with two counts of aggravated child neglect, child endangerment and DUI.
An investigation continues.
