According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a pedestrian accident took place at the intersection of California Avenue and L Street.
The officials stated that a woman pedestrian was declared dead at the scene after a vehicle struck her.
According to the initial investigation, the woman had crossed the street during a red light whereas a vehicle travelling had a green light.
The Bakersfield Police Department officials have stated that speed and alcohol were not the factors involved in the fatal crash.
The identity of the woman was not released by the BPD officials.
