1 person killed, several people injured after a three-vehicle accident on SR-18 in Federal Way (Federal Way, WA)

One person died while several others suffered serious injuries following a wrong-way crash in Federal Way.

As per the initial information, the fatal three-vehicle wreck took place on State Route 18 near SR-167. According to the officers, they received 911 calls at about 8:55 p.m. about a wrong-way driver that was going westbound in the eastbound lanes of State Route 18.

After some time, more calls came in informing that three cars had been involved in an accident. Reports confirmed that one person died and several others received serious injuries as a result of the collision. SR-18 was shut down between Weyerhaeuser Way and SR-167 as crews worked at the scene.

Eastbound traffic on SR-18 was directed to Weyerhaeuser Way. The road was expected to be blocked for an unknown amount of time. Motorists were advised to avoid the area. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
