The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a single-vehicle accident on Tuesday. The accident occurred near the intersection of State Highway 130 and Pearce Lane. It was reported at 12:30 a.m.
According to the officials, a Chevrolet Corvette was heading north on the highway when it left the road and struck the concrete pillars supporting the Elroy Road overpass. The driver of the vehicle incurred critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the driver has not been disclosed.
The cause of the fatal accident is still being investigated. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. There are no other details available at this time.
