According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a hit-and-run accident was reported on Sunday night.
The officials stated that a person was found lying on the road in the 700 block of P Street.
The investigation report stated that a man had been hit by a car. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and render help and fled the scene.
The injured victim was taken to the hospital and was declared dead on Monday morning.
The suspect’s vehicle is suspected to be a black sedan with damage on the front driver’s side.
The officials believe that speed was the factor involved in the crash.
The Bakersfield Police are investigating the fatal crash.
